America!

To see details of this section:

We had a very relaxing night at Slab City and hung around so that we could visit East Jesus before starting riding.

We particularly liked this as we used to have a VW  camper with exactly the same conversion.

We also looked at Salvation Mountain on the way out. It is quite extraordinary. A work of devotion. The colours look amazing against the desert sky.

We then began our ride down towards the Mexican border. We were gutted to find that we were a week early for the rodeo in Brawley.

We have arrived in El Centro and will be here for a few days to recharge our batteries. It is not far from the Mexican border so it feels appropriate to provide some stats.

We have been in the road for 59 days and have covered 3853km and climbed 49080m. We have ridden an average of 71km per day (excluding rest days).

We stayed:
In 3 motels,
With 10 warmshowers hosts for a total of 15 nights
In the tent for 40 nights, 19 of which were on campgrounds we had to pay for

We had 4 punctures and had rain on 4 days.

Highest point: 2600m
Lowest point: -70m

We are already getting excited for Mexico
