On the move
Day one Vancouver to Fort Langley. Fantastic to be on the road at last.
Great send off from my cousin Pete, his son Tom and their lovely neighbors Alan and Sue. Our bike was blessed with a bonfirm wish ribbon and our tummies with snacks for later.
A couple of early stops as is usual, one to fill our water bottles at a fountain as we seemed to have neglected to do this before departure, and one to buy a tin opener as ring pull technology has not yet reached North America.
Landscape was a mixture of suburbia (including Windermere!) farmland, rivers and every cycle tourists favourite - industrial estates.
Late rain meant we were glad to reach camp although our question about bears prompted the check person to email us some quite off-putting information about the wildlife we are likely to encounter on our trip.
Great blog! Good luck with the wildlife and would love to see those faces when you say "Destination Chile!" ;-)
